Peachy Keen Challenge 03: Paper Roll
This weeks Peachy Keen challenge is to create a project with an empty toilet roll.
At first I wasn't sure what I wanted to do, but once I cut out the toilet roll into strips, I decided that I wanted to make a flower. I then thought to myself that this would make a good christmas tree ornament.
I painted the toilet roll strips purple (my favorite color) with some Acrylic paint that I had gotten at Michaels awhile ago.
After the paint dried, I used my glue gun to adhere the petals together. I added some Scotch clear glue to the border part of the petals and then sprinkled some Twinklets Diamond Dust to give some sparkle and Christmas feel to the ornament.
For the center of the flower ornament, I used the "Build a Banner Kit" from My Creative Time. The cute little face is from Peachy Keen's "PK-640 Princess Face Assortment" set. I added pink chalk for some cute little cheeks, and then glued it onto my flower ornament.
I hole-punched a hole through one of the petals and ran some purple ribbon through. This project was fun and can easily be mass produced and done in more traditional christmas colors, not to mention it's super inexpensive to make.
I will be entering the flower ornament in Peachy Keen's Challenge 03: Paper Roll
